Kaneohe

Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation’s satellite office in Kaneohe has been an integral part of the Windward community since late 2009. Located in the iconic American Savings Bank building on Kamehameha Hwy near the Windward Mall, we are easily accessible from H3 as an alternative to driving into town, and free parking is available.

Dr. Stephen Scheper is open for appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays, we offer licensed massage therapy treatment.

We regularly perform joint and tissue imaging using our GE LOGIC® ultrasound system to provide instant results with MRI-like examinations of arm and leg conditions.

Additionally, our ultrasound is used to deliver precision injections when appropriate for joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and some spine conditions. This technique dramatically improves results compared to traditional standard injections that are guided by feel alone.

Dr. Scheper is a skilled electrodiagnostician and performs electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies for any nerve related conditions causing numbness, burning, tingling and weakness. This is considered the gold standard for any nerve diagnostic study of the peripheral nervous system. As a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine and board certified doctor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Scheper has the additional perspective to detect and restore structural balance and alignment through manipulation treatments. Structural asymmetry or dysfunction is so often a key component to any orthopedic condition that will either make or break your recovery.
