Dr. Bernard Portneropened Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation in 1986 with a singular goal in mind: to provide Oahu, Hawaii residents with patient-focused, compassionate orthopedic care that solves problems at the source of pain. With a wealth of support from the community, the Honolulu clinic was able to add several types of practitioners, including physical therapists, massage therapists and acupuncturists, in addition to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
Today, the Honolulu location thrives as happy patients continuously refer friends and family members. Dr. Portner concentrates on continuous improvement through education, new technology and techniques. Recent upgrades like the state-of-the-art ultrasound, C-arm fluoroscopy and radiofrequency ablation machines help improve both the patient experience and the overall results of diagnosis and treatment.
Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Portner is available for appointments Monday through Friday. He is also on the teaching faculty at UH-Manoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine and the University of Washington, tapes a popular call-in radio show called The Moving Body, and speaks to community and athletic groups around the island.
