Physical Therapist, MPT
Samuel was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. An avid sports fan, Samuel grew up playing baseball, soccer, and rugby. He earned his Honours BA in kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario in 2006 before completing his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2008. Samuel enjoys treating all orthopaedic-related injuries and has a special affinity for sports-related injuries. In addition to caring for his patients, Samuel is working towards an advanced Orthopaedics certification and a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy through The North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and Andrews University. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, playing sports, hiking, and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays.
Physical Therapist, DPT
Brittney joined the Portner Orthopedic team in October, 2011. Her educational background includes a Clinical Doctorate degree in physical therapy which she obtained from Chapman University in Orange, California. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine which she obtained from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. Brittney has continued her growth as a clinician through various continuing education courses including the Maitland approach to manual mobilizations of the lumbar and cervical spines, wellness and injury prevention of the lower extremity and spine in athletes, and palpation and functional application of the tissues involving the musculoskeletal system. In her practice, she takes a holistic approach and incorporates precise manual therapy treatments with complimentary therapeutic exercise and stabilization programs, and strongly believes in educating her patients on wellness and injury prevention for their future endeavors. Outside of work, Brittney enjoys going to the beach, free-diving, SUPing and surfing, attending open-markets and craft fairs, and spending time with her husband and family.
Physical Therapist, DPT
Born and raised in Hawaii, Andrew graduated from the University of Washington for both an undergraduate degree in 2001 and a doctorate of physical therapy in 2006. He has worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting in Seattle since graduating and has been with the Portner Orthopedic team since 2012. Andrew’s has experience treating a wide variety of injuries including spinal and peripheral joint injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, balance training and fall prevention, He incorporates a variety of manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, and education to empower the patient to actively participate in their rehab process to return to their optimal level of function. Andrew believes in the importance of growing in knowledge to provide the best care and continues to further his knowledge and skills through continuing education courses including NAIOMNT, and the Mckenzie and Mulligan systems. In his free time, Andrew enjoys swimming, spending time with family and friends, and rooting for UW and the Seattle Seahawks.
Physical Therapist, DPT
Natasha was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. She received her B.S. for the University of Arizona in Exercise Science in 1996, her M.S. and D.P.T. from A. T. Still University. She has enjoyed working as a physical therapist since 1999. She is certified in mat Pilates and Purna Yoga and enjoys using these techniques with her patients when appropriate. Her work is further enhanced by her personal experience as a professional dancer for 3 years and ongoing athletic endeavors (triathlons, weight training, hiking, and chasing her small children around the park).

Terrance Fee bio:
Terrance “Terry” Fee, DPT, OCS earned a Master of Physical Therapy from US Army-Baylor University in 2003, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in 2007. He is board certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association.
Terry’s interests include Sports medicine, Orthopedic rehabiliation, and Amputee rehabilitation. He enjoys working with patients and focuses treatment on exercise and manual therapy of the spine and extremities.
Terry enjoys spending time with his family and enjoys the many cultural activities and beaches that Hawaii has to offer.
Physical Therapy Assistant, PTA
David is originally from Santa Monica California and has been frequenting the Islands for over 20 years. He graduated for Cal State Northridge in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise Science. He also holds a Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Kapiolani Community College and is also licensed in California. His hobbies include surfing, hiking and spending time with his family and 2 daughters. His philosophy on exercise as a therapeutic tool is “if it hurts, don’t do it, if it feels good, do it twice”.
Xiaoqing “Yana” Hodge graduated 6th highest in a class of 200 from the Nahjing University of Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China in 1990. Nanjing University of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is one of only five universities in China that are in collaboration with the World Health Organization. Since then, she has worked at Jiangsu Provinicial Hospital of TCM in Nanjing and afterwards traveled to Europe and Moscow where she spent 5 ½ years at Polyclinic of Traditional Medicine “INTERMED” Inc. as Doctor in Charge of TCM. Here she treated thousands of adults and children with various illnesses.
Yana has been in private practice for more than 10 years in Honolulu. She also practices at Rehab Hospital of the Pacific with Dr. Eugene M.C. Lee, M.D. (Internal Medicine/Pediatrics) and at Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation with Dr. Bernard Portner, complementing their western medical practices with her expertise in eastern medicine.
Dr. Kelsey Ennila D.C.
Dr Kelsey Ennila specializes in non-surgical spinal care, injury rehabilitation, and various other musculoskeletal conditions. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic West, located in San Jose CA, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors. Throughout the majority of his 10 years in practice as a Chiropractor, Dr Ennila has practiced in Southern California. Dr Ennila is an avid athlete and his early experiences with Chiropractic coupled with several nagging sports injuries that were relieved by Chiropractic led him to the profession he loves today. Amazed with the results he experienced he was inspired to share the wonders of Chiropractic with others.
Massage Therapist, LMT
Graduating from the Honolulu School of Massage in 1989, Gilda Lee has more than 20 years of work experience as a Hawaii licensed massage therapist (MAT #2495).
Gilda joined the staff of Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation in 2000. She is trained in a wide variety of techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, Hawaiian lomi-lomi, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, reflexology and muscle energy techniques. She regularly participates in continuing education courses from James Waslaski focused on orthopedic and medical massage.
Massage Therapist, LMT
Vennesa Petteway has been a LMT for 14 years. After graduating for massage school she was fortunate enough to intern with an amazing Acupuncturist/Internist and a Physical Therapist who specialized in pain management. They introduced her to Eastern Medicine and she traveled to may exciting parts of the world in search of mater teachers to learn specialized modalities. “I love what I do. I do believe that through touch (good touch) we can heal the world”.
Massage Therapist, LMT
Tiffany currently holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and is pursuing post-graduate studies in the medical field, while gaining first-hand experience within the clinic for over one year. She enjoys watching movies, going to crossfit and traveling. While she lacks cooking skills, she does enjoy baking and decorating cakes. Her personal role model is her grandfather, who continues to inspire her daily with his kind heart, intense work ethic and endless intelligence. Although she has not yet begun her career, she is adamantly awaiting retirement to pursue her ultimate dream of being a daily tourist.
Suzette enjoys working with Insurance verification, patient satisfaction, and helping the aged. Suzette has worked in telecommunications industry for nearly 20 years. Worked in the travel industry and thoroughly enjoy traveling and is an extensive traveler. She also enjoys eating premium sushi at yanagi sushi restaurant.
Summer is originally from Southern California, loves working with patients. She has a strong desire to improve with their quality of life. She has worked in the service industry for 20 years, and enjoys being around positive people. In her spare time she goes to the beach and loves to swim and play in the waves. Loves the snow , reading, and traveling and is currently planning a trip to Europe Enjoy learning new cultures as she has lived in 7 states. Enjoys doing crossfit, loves to go bike riding, and spending time with husband of 11 years.
Lucy is originally from New Jersey and got her associates in business. Her first training in the medical field started when she was in high school working with the physical therapist in the special education department. Afterwards she has worked as a Nurse assistant at the school medical center. She got her PT Aide degree, and is still continuing her education in nursing currently attending Kapiolani CC. She has worked with Portner Orthopedic since the beginning of the year. She is an avid hiker and is always looking forward to doing sporting races. Lucys personal inspiration is her mother who is a special education teacher who has pushed her throughout the years to be the best.
Patient Schedule Specialist
Tannus, Originally from Brooklyn NY used to be a New York Guardian Angel. Enjoys working with ederly care Alzheimer’s, dementia, quadriplegics, paraplegic, and down syndrome.He also has special emphasis in working with children and adults with special needs including autism. In the past and currently he enjoys working in home health care/er tech urgent care/ ICU, Private care. Tannus got into the medical field from taking care of a family member. Previously worked as a vet tech, and enjoys the medical environment. Recently married to wife that works works as a nurses aide with clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia . Looking forward to furthering his medical field. Enjoys training german shepards.
Patient Care Supervisor
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and am a part time analytical chemist. I have made my way through many trades before I found my way into Health Care. I served 3 years in the military working in Air and Missile Defense with a focus in communications. After leaving the Army, I took my love of travel and experiencing other cultures and moved to Hawaii 6 years ago where I met my wonderful wife. I returned to school with a focus in the sciences and began volunteering at Hospice Hawaii where I discovered my love of people and medicine. After graduating, I joined Portner Orthopedic where I continue to apply and strengthen my knowledge and experiences in medicine while contributing what I can to help those who are struggling with pain every day in our community. In my free time, my wife and I continue to travel, staycation, paddle board, and are constantly finding new things to try. I hope to continue to serve my community as a physician and am pursuing admittance to a medical program.

Stephanie has a degree in Biology and Chemistry, and began her career as an EMT. She moved to Hawaii over four years ago and enjoys scuba diving, free diving and learning about sea life.

Jon has worked in the medical field for over 10 years now. He chooses to work in the medical field because he loves helping people. The greatest reward working at Portner Orthopedic is seeing people get better after receiving services at our office.
Windward Medical Assistant
Born and raised in Utah, Lindsay has appreciated the great weather in Hawaii for the last six years. She found a passion for helping people in the administrative capacity of healthcare, and has gained human resources, home health and medical office experience over the last eight years. When not enjoying her time with patients and her co-workers in the Portner Orthopedic office, Lindsay spends down time relaxing with a good book, spending time with friends, and catching up on her favorite films and shoe shopping and playing with her cats.
Michelle was born in California and was raised in England and Washington State. She attended University of Iowa where she received her Bachelors in Nursing. Her passion has always been in the medical field as well as helping people’s dreams come true,which led her to start her own Wedding and Events Planning business in Florida. Michelle has been featured in Brides Magazine, Bridal Shows, done events for people such as Fran Drescher, Rudolph Giuliani, and even the President of Guatemala. Michelle moved to Hawaii two years ago from Florida. Her number one thing in her life is her family. Michelle has four children who are all attending college from the University of Florida to Hawaii Pacific University. Besides family and friends, Michelle enjoys traveling, new adventures, The Patriots and Florida Gators, living life, believing in dreams, and of course, her many different pairs of heels.
